Turning 5 at Preschool

Jacob's school celebrated his birthday this morning. I took video, but I'm an idiot and shot it vertically instead of horizontally, so I'll just explain how it went down. He got to wear a crown and cape and carry a flag around as the class sung "Happy Birthday" and some other stuff. Apparently, part of the "celebration" includes birthday spankings, and he looked at me in horror until we realized that it just meant the kids clapped 5 times. Also took in cookies but, since I returned from vacation to a broken oven, they were of the store-bought variety. So hopefully, since they get to eat them at lunchtime, the sugar high will have worn off by the time I pick him up at nap:30.
