The Famous Jacob

So, Jacob was in a fashion show at our local science museum on Thursday night. We had to be there at 4 for an hour and a half of Crap, including outfitting; eating Chick-fil-A (which, despite my amazement regarding the history/art of feeding little children, occurred after dressing); and sitting around waiting. If my "model" had been a girl, the time would have gone faster, since the team from Sweet 'n Sassy was there to do hair and makeup. They actually checked on Jacob once to see if he wanted his hair done, but he promptly made a face and told them that was "for girls only!" But, alas, Jacob made some friends and they sat around playing blocks while I sat around playing Solitaire on my iPhone. At 5:50, they finally ushered the models downstairs and I went to find Mark and take seats.

Jacob was the first out. I was actually worried about this factor. At rehearsal, he did really well, but at the show there was a huge crowd and the emcee had riled up the audience, telling them to whoop and holler, and I wasn't sure I would have come out, let alone my 5 year-old son. But Jacob pulled through; he did some weird stiff-leg walk all the way to the end of the stage, waved, and turned around and walked back. Really good for a little guy. I was (and still am) thankful that he was not one of the ones who chose not to come out at all.

Anyway, it was cute, and he got a swag bag and he got to keep one of the shirts, so he was excited. He was also exhausted, and was asleep within 2 minutes of putting him to bed. Score.
